Unfortunately, 1 out every 2 people will be diagnosed with some form of cancer throughout their lifetime. Orchids annual Male cancer awareness day is all about spreading awareness to men that are at risk of developing prostate, testicular or penile cancer. Orchid is a charity that was set up to ‘save men’s lives from testicular, prostate and penile cancers through pioneering research and promoting awareness’.
There is very little awareness out there about the risk of male cancers so it is important that this annual message reaches as many people as possible.
Each year, Orchid highlight health messages about the three male-specific cancers to improve awareness and give opportunities for men, families and healthcare professionals to learn about male cancer and improve their understanding of the signs and symptoms. Through the promotion of their services and resources, we hope men and their families will gain a better understanding of where to go for help and treatment. They also educating medical staff to help give the men the best support possible.

Each year more than 47,500 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer in the UK alone. It is important that we work hard to educate men of all ages to ensure that we can identify and investigate symptoms at an early stage and therefore increase the chances of having successful treatment.
