Mr Gulamhusein is a Consultant Urological and Robotic Surgeon based at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust with a specialist interest in testicular cancer, kidney cancer and retroperitoneal sarcoma for which he performs complex open and minimally invasive retroperitoneal surgery.

Mr Gulamhusein holds an honorary contract at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London and visits regularly for joint operations with the testicular and kidney cancer team.

In 2008 Mr Gulamhusein graduated from Sheffield Medical School and proceeded to complete his surgical and urological training within South Yorkshire. Mr Gulamhusein was the first in the UK to undertake a prestigious Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) robotic kidney surgery fellowship at the Royal Free Hospital in London, the highest volume kidney surgery centre in the UK. Prior to undertaking his fellowship in London, he was awarded a RCS grant to visit a ERUS robotic host centre in Aalborg, Denmark.

He has a keen interest in medical education and was a previous lead for the urology module at the Sheffield Medical School. He has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education and is on the faculty for various courses and educational programmes. His research interests include investigating the use of novel 3D technology for surgical planning as well as enhanced recovery from surgery.
